This week P6/5 created firework pictures to celebrate Guy Fawkes night. Using oil pastels, they explored colour blending techniques to create different colors and patterns. A touch of glitter added some extra sparkle! This activity allowed the children to show off their creativity skills.
This week P6/5 have been looking into Evacuation during World War 2. After writing evacuation letters we used tea staining to make them look like they were written in 1940. We used our Longridge toolkit creative skills to try different techniques such as dipping, dabbing and dripping, and different resources such as cotton pads, the tea bags and sponges to create different textures and appearance. The pupils had a great time showing off their artistic skills and have all produced brilliant artwork.
This afternoon P3/2 used all of our amazing collaboration and creativity skills to build a house fit for the 3 little pigs. We worked in small randomised groups using different materials to build a strong house that would withstand the ‘wolf test’! We then spoke about the pros and cons of each material.
