P6/5 Art

This week P6/5 created firework pictures to celebrate Guy Fawkes night. Using oil pastels, they explored colour blending techniques to create different colors and patterns. A touch of glitter added some extra sparkle! This activity allowed the children to show off their creativity skills.

P6/5 Go Wild…again!

It was P6/5’s 2nd time in the Forest with Rob from Kids Gone Wild this week.

We were all really excited to get out there and, of course, get on that zip line!

We worked together to problem solve; how could we get the zip line back to the next person waiting when it was too high for us to reach?

We collaborated and communicated when it came to who was getting the next shot and how long each duo were on the net for.

We created something from nothing, using wood, natural clay, leaves and lots of other natural resources found in the forest.

Best of all, we had fun as a whole class and really showed what a great team we are. Well done P6/5!

P6/5 World War 2 Artwork

This week P6/5 have been looking into Evacuation during World War 2. After writing evacuation letters we used tea staining to make them look like they were written in 1940.
We used our Longridge toolkit creative skills to try different techniques such as dipping, dabbing and dripping, and different resources such as cotton pads, the tea bags and sponges to create different textures and appearance.
The pupils had a great time showing off their artistic skills and have all produced brilliant artwork.

P6/5 Go Wild

This week it was P6/5’s turn to head to the Forest with Rob from Kids Gone Wild.

Before , during and after our forest session we spoke about risk taking and how we can make sensible decisions based on our surroundings.

P6/5 enjoyed making dens, exploring the forest and the local wildlife and playing games.

We all got the chance to try a hammock, some of us enjoyed it a bit too much !

We also tried walking the slack line and some of us even tried horizontally climbing along the rope.

P6/5 had a great afternoon in the forest and can’t wait for our next adventure!

P3/2 STEM

This afternoon P3/2 used all of our amazing collaboration and creativity skills to build a house fit for the 3 little pigs. We worked in small randomised groups using different materials to build a strong house that would withstand the ‘wolf test’! We then spoke about the pros and cons of each material.
