Football Fun

Congratulations to the children who represented our football team at the Whitburn Academy Cluster football event. The Longridge team were told that the priority was representing the school with positive behaviour and attitude which they absolutely did. They were a credit to the school and their families!

Officially, the games were all friendlies with no scores being counted but… if they were, Longridge won 4 out of 5 games, only conceding 1 goal! This was a great achievement for our players, each game up against bigger local schools. Our players will remember their success for a long time to come!

PS a special thank you to Mrs Sneddon who not only organises the bus and letters for these events but offered to wash the strips. Over and above!!

POP!

Our extra curricular opportunities started this week with our first science club. In our first experiment, we created a chemical reaction which produced a gas, causing the test tube lid to pop right off!

Afterwards we learned about the science of bubbles. We had so much fun creating giant bubbles!

We were able to do some cool tricks with bubbles. Have you ever seen bubbles inside other bubbles? Did you know you can put your hand inside a bubble without popping it? You’ll have to ask our little scientists how it’s done!

What’s on the Menu This Week?

The children enjoyed another cooking lesson with Alex from Fauldhouse Community Development Trust and soup was on the menu this week! It was a fantastic opportunity to develop skills in chopping as well as learning how to bring a liquid to boiling.

Celebration Assembly

What an amazing bunch of children we have at Longridge Primary school. It is always a pleasure to hear about their achievements and successes.
This month our Head Teacher Awards were awarded to the following children and they enjoyed their hot chocolate treat!

Our Wider Achievement certificates were awarded for talents in dancing, boxing and swimming, amongst others.

Finally, our golden coin winners who have shown excellent progress in literacy this month are below.

In true Longridge Primary School fashion, the children were supportive of their peers and siblings, showing pride and kindness to each other.

A Community Partnership

We are delighted to be working in partnership with the Fauldhouse Community Development Trust who have kindly offered such wonderful opportunities for our learners. The children experienced a lesson with a football coach and a chance to take part in a Little Chefs cooking class.

The children learned how to make pancakes, it was great fun although eating them was even better!
