P3 Sumdog

Well done to all of you taking part in the Sumdog competition. A particular well done in P3R to AM for completing 550 correct answers. I have sent reward coins to AM, EP, ZW, PC and KD for making us reach the leader board! If you haven’t joined yet, please take part and see if we can do even better.

I am sure Miss Buchanan will send reward coins to her class too.

Enjoy the holidays.

P2 Sumdog๐Ÿค—

Hello Primary 2. How are you? Thought I’d just give you an update on the Sumdog competition. A huge congratulations to OC in P2K who was 3rd on the individual Leaderboard yesterday. Well done OC๐Ÿ‘๐ŸŒŸ.

LM in P1M is sitting in 1st place. That’s fantastic work.๐Ÿ‘

Well done to those in P2D taking part as we have now got onto the Schools Leaderboard and are in 82nd place.๐ŸŽ† There are 129 schools on the board at the moment, so that is great.๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Thank you to everyone who is taking part and if you’ve not had a chance yet, the competition is open until Thursday at 8pm, so feel free to join in. The more taking part the better. Let’s see if we can climb up that board or fly up it!โœˆ๐Ÿš€

Take care and stay safe,

love from Mrs Duff๐Ÿ˜

Mrs Carder’s Stepping Stone Design Challenge

Did you know we have some lovely apple trees in our school garden?

Well Mrs Thomson and Miss Anderson were very busy working in the school garden recently removing some Pampas Grass to make more space for the apple trees to grow and we were thinking it would be good to have some stepping stones to help us to get to the apple trees when we want to pick the apples.

So, I would like you to put your creative hats on and come up with some designs we can paint onto stepping stones. All the information is attached on the link below along with a template.

I look forward to seeing your creations!

Thank You

Hello everyone. As you will have seen, this is my last week at Harrysmuir before I retire. I just wanted to thank all of the children and their parents/carers for the many years I have enjoyed at Harrysmuir. I have genuinely loved my time here whether it was as a class teacher or teaching French and RME.

It has been my privilege to work with an amazing team over the years who have always sought to teach, support and encourage every child they work with. This can sometimes be difficult but they always do their very best. I will miss them very much.

And to all of you children present and past, I encourage you to always aim to be the best you can be. You are all very important and special. Don’t ever forget that! When things are hard, never give up following your dreams. I hope to be able to come and see you briefly when you return in August and say goodbye to you then.

Take care and thank you again

๐Ÿ™‚Primary 2 Activities 22.06.20

Hello Primary 2! How are you all? Did you have a good weekend. It was a good mixture of sunshine and showers.๐ŸŒฆโ˜”๐ŸŒค

It’s strange that this is the last week before the summer holidays. It almost feels as if it should be the last day of our summer holidays!!๐Ÿค”

Thank you to everyone for carrying on so well with your work and your learning throughout Lockdown and a huge thank you to your parents and carers for helping you with this too.ย  โค It has been a very strange time indeed.

The activities this week are a mixture of looking back at the school year and looking forward to your next school year. Some of them are talking activities, some are writing and some are drawing. Feel free to choose the one(s) that suit you best. You will probably need some adult help to complete them. There will be paper copies of the activity sheets in the school if you want to pick them up.

Could you please hand in any completed sheets or keep them in a safe place to bring back in August to let your new teacher see them. Thank you.๐Ÿ˜Š

The End of Term Activity Book (1) is a mixture of fun activities to do including fitness ideas, crafts, art, cooking etc..

I see 3 people from each of the P2 classes have already joined in the Sumdog competition – well done.๐Ÿ‘We need another 2 people from each class to join to register the classes on the scoreboard. If you haven’t already, please feel free to have a go now. It would be great to see your names on the board.

Finally, this is Mrs Kohler’s last week at school as she is retiring.๐Ÿ˜ฅIf you would like to send her a wee goodbye message on the P2 email address: wlharrysmuir-ps-primary2@westlothian.org.uk, I’m sure she would love to hear from you.๐Ÿ˜Š

Have a lovely week. Stay safe.

Love from Mrs Duff and Mrs Kohler
