Why do Christians celebrate Easter?

For Christians, the Easter egg is symbolic of the stone rolling away from the front of Jesus’ tomb. Painting Easter eggs is an especially beloved tradition in the Orthodox and Eastern Catholic churches where the eggs are dyed red to represent the blood of Jesus.

Decorating Eggs
Why not have a go at decorating an egg? If you are decorating a real egg, make sure to hard boil it first and then let it cool down (get an adult to help you with this step). You can decorate it with pens, paint and/or food colouring!

Don’t worry if you can’t use a real egg. You could draw an egg onto paper/card and decorate it that way. We’ve added some mindfulness colouring sheets too, or why not make your own mindfulness egg?

Enjoy!
