Schuh (Shoe project)

  • Schuh runs a regional competition from their Livingston offices. They provide some funding and judge the competition. There are prizes. This is usually done with S3 or S2 pupils.

Minuteman Press (Christmas cards)

  • We use this Dunfermline based printer to produce Christmas cards and School calendars.

 Jupiter Artland.

  • Jupiter Artland recently ran a competition for the region involving S1 and 2 pupils. Sadly, this was interrupted by the CV outbreak.

  • Alex and WLC provided free life drawing classes with all senior Art pupils last session and we hope to continue this in the future.

Edinburgh School of Food and Wine

  • Led a pastry workshop at the S2 Takeover day.
  • Link has been established for 20/21 supporting Senior Phase pupils in certificated courses.

The Burgh Halls 

  • Led an event workshop at the S2 Takeover day.

Quality Meat Scotland

  • Have helped provide resources for the department and expressed interest in future immersion days.

Champany Inn

  • We have established for 20/21 visits to Champany,
  • workers from Champany coming to visit our SP pupils in school,
  • work experience opportunities for pupils.

Skills Development Scotland

Ross Phillips provided SfW pupils with an interview skills workshop. He also completed SfW mock interviews with a colleauge and provided feedback for them. This was set up to continue for 20/21.

School Canteen (external company)

All SfW: Hospitality pupils completed 2 hours of work experience in the school canteen.

PE

Jennifer Clelland Head of Performing Arts

  • Pupils attended a lyrical workshop and theatre trip with the company above. This was to enhance knowledge and give a practical experience of lyrical dance. In addition, the group attend a theatre performance to see first hand how this style is used to portray a story.

Kingsfield Golf and Leisure club (Jane – janeconnachangolf@yahoo.com)

  • Jane support with the delivery of our HWB week, providing an insight and development of golf.

Stephen Gallacher Golf Foundation

  • Supported us giving the opportunity to students in S1 & S2 to go off campus and develop their golf skills further.

Personal Training (Mhairi Donald – studio44personaltraining@hotmail.com )

  • Mhaira supported the HWB week by providing fitness sessions for the students and also giving an inspirational talk on health and fitness.

Takwondo (Dominic Elder – “dominic.elder@hotmail.co.uk” )

  • Dominic support with HWB delivering session for the students on fitness, self discipline and techniques used in Takwondo.

Linlithgow Rugby Club (Dougie Thomson & Ewan Mochrie)

  • Both rugby DOs support the school in running our School of Rugby programme. Provide students the opportunity to develop their skills level, strategic awareness and fitness levels. They are integrated as part of the rugby club where further opportunities are available to them and with links with the SRU they have been involved in special events ran by the SRU including nutrition talks and Q&As with professional players.

  • Snowsport Scotland level 1 instructor course which can be done from age 14.
  • Sharon Crossan from Firpark for the instructor.
  • Students were able to elect into this at their choosing
