Hopetoun House Visit
P5 went to Hopetoun House for the day. Everyone was given a role to play. Samuel got to be the most important person, the butler.
Chloe and Emily were the scullery maids, they got the blame for everything that went wrong!
It was really good fun learning about the jobs and responsibilities.
We got to write with quills and ink and even made our own butter with the butterchurn (which we tasted on a scone today!)

Extension Opening Ceremony
Our superb new £1.3 extension is getting young people active at Blackridge Primary School.
Our Pupils have already been enjoying the school’s brand new games hall complete with modern changing facilities, improving access to sport and healthy activity.
Vice chair of the Education Executive, Councillor David Dodds, was invited to attend the opening ceremony at the school to mark the completion of the works along with staff, pupils, members of the community and parent representatives.
Blackridge Head Boy and Depute Head Girl Ethan and Megan compered the ceremony, which included music and speeches, in front of the whole school community and invited guests.
Other works at the school have included improving access to the school through a new main entrance way and reception area, with internal alterations to allow disabled access between the various levels within the existing school.
Following the opening ceremony the pupils enjoyed a party in the new hall!
