Emma found out that tarantulas don’t have spines!

Logan discovered that snakes have double the amount of bones to humans, so almost 500 bones!

Sasha found out that toads can be really big!  Much bigger than the ones she has seen in ponds here!

James learned that the snake he held (it was 9 ft long) was actually a reptile.

Cara found out that bat’s wings are actually their fingers.

Leah found out that some creatures lay eggs such as fish, birds and amphibians.

Have a look at our fantastic pictures!

We had to hold Amber like a hamburger
I think someone is feeling peckish!

The mischievous meerkat

Say hello to spiky Sydney, can you guess where he is from?

The mighty python!
Mighty p4's holding the python!

Maths Investigation.

We worked on a tricky maths investigation last week.

We had to make as many numbers as we could between 1 and 40 using just the numbers 1,2,3 and 4 – once only and one addition, subtraction, multiplication and division sign in each sum.

Have a look at our work and see how well we did.

If you have any ideas for numbers we missed, put them in the comments!

Timelines

Yesterday we learned about timelines.

We decided on some important events in our lives and in the world and put them in order on our table to make a simple timeline.

Here is a video of our timelines.

Improving a sentence.

Today in class we tried to improve simple sentences to help make our writing more interesting.

We began the sentences simply and developed them.

Dylan ran.

Dylan ran away.

The curious boy ran away from home.

The curious boy with the magnifying glass ran away from home to find a tiny horse.

Michael thought.

The boy thought about cats.

The smart boy thought about ginger cats.

The smart boy, who was holding little brothers hand, thought about getting him a ginger cat.

As you can see if we improve our sentences by adding more detail, they are more entertaining to read.

To find out about how to stay safe on the Internet we can look at the Internet safety page and watch the Brainpop animation which is on there.

Rocket Science.

Have a look at our exciting video.

As well as clearly enjoying the experience, the class were able to describe what had happened and why.

Ami said that when Miss Razzaq put the water, baking powder and vinegar into the bottle the mixture all bubbled up to the top and the rocket shot into the air.

Emma knew that Bicarbonate of Soda and vinegar reacted together to make the rocket take off.

Shasha added that it shot a long way onto the sky!

Caitlyn reminded us that if you are going to try this at home you should make sure you have an adult to help you.

They also discovered that Egypitans bathed in the River Nile and their soap was made out of animal fat and chalk. When people where Mummified oil and salt was put onto their skin. They also found out that Egyptians had 10 days in their week instead of 7. Keri thought it would be hard going to school for 7 days without a break!

Luke, Levi and Cameron found out that Tutankhamun was named the boy King after his Dad died as he was a King from the age of 9. They learned that most of the artifacts in Britain come from Sakhara. Logan and Matthew discovered that Tutankhamun was the 12th King of the dynasty.

Zoe, Ellis and Amy found out that when Tutankhamun was King, two generals took a lot of the decisions for him until he was older. He died of a head injury when he was 19.
