Primary 3 – 01/06/20 PM

Bonjour tout le monde!

This afternoon we will do some French activities.

Over the next few weeks you could try to achieve some of the things on this French challenge sheet:

the_great_french_language_challenge

Some of the tasks are pretty tricky so don’t worry about trying to do them all.  Just have a go and you will be surprised what you learn!

To get you started, here is a French song to practise!

What do you think it is about? Discuss it with someone in your house.

Spelling – Sumdog

I have set each group a spelling challenge on sumdog to revise words you have learned in class.  Please log in to sumdog.com and have a go!  It will finish on Friday.

Have a fun afternoon.  If you are outside, please remember to stay safe in the sun by wearing a hat, using suncream and drinking lots of water!

Mrs Harding 🙂

Primary 3 – 01/06/20 AM

Good Morning everyone!

Here is the new Home Learning Grid for the next 2 weeks:  home learning grid 5

Literacy – Weekend News

Today is the 1st June, a new month! I hope you all had a great weekend and managed to spend some time outdoors. Perhaps you finally got to see some family?!  I’m sure it will have been a special weekend for many of you and I would love to hear what you did, who you saw and how you felt.   Please write your weekend news in your jotter and draw a picture to go with it.  Remember to include:

  • punctuation – at least capital letters and full stops!
  • openers – At the weekend…   Yesterday…   On Saturday….
  • connectives – and      but    because      so
  • adjectives – think of interesting describing words to explain what you did and how you felt.

Maths – 3D Shape

Last week you practised naming and describing 3D shapes.  Today we are going to practise making a 3D shape by creating a net.  A net is what a 3D shape looks like if it is opened out flat.

Watch the video first:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/zt7xk2p/articles/z247tv4

Next, see if you can carefully deconstruct a cardboard box (cereal, teabags, biscuits etc) to have a look at the net.  What 3D shape does the net make?  Can you draw around the net to make another one?

For a challenge, have a look at this activity and see if you can work out which nets will make a cube:

Have a lovely morning,

Mrs Harding

Jigsaw

Good morning boys and girls

Jigsaw Jack today would like you to think about friendship.

First he would like you to listen to this video from toy story

All the toy story films are about friendship and the most special friendship in toy story is between Andy the little boy and Woody the cowboy. Woody is everything a good friend should be. What makes Andy and Woody such good friends? Share your thoughts with an adult at home.

Jigsaw Jack wants to be a good friend! He would like you to help him. Can you sort these statements into true and false depending on if they are something a good friend should be or not.

Be kind

Say sorry if they have upset you

Have no other friends

Care about other people

Have lots of toys and games

Only talk to me

Copy everything I do

Bring me presents all the time

Once you have done that can you draw a picture and write a sentence to say why you are a good friend.

‘I am a good friend because……’

Have a lovely weekend boys and girls,

Speak to you on Monday.

Miss Beaton and Mrs Melia

Primary 2 – Friday 29th May

Good morning boys and girl. It’s Friday again. Last few tasks for the week.

WRITING

It’s free writing Friday. Write a story about anything you wish. It might be an adventure about a dinosaur, dragon, princess, dog etc. It might be a letter to someone you miss during lock down. It might be a poster, a card or a leaflet. The choice is yours. Remember to use capital letters, finger spaces and full stops.

Watch this video on doubles and practice them in your jotter. How far can you go? Can you go higher than 10? Higher than 20? Higher than 50?

Hope you have a lovely weekend. Stay safe, Mrs Reid.
