Normandy Update

58 Sleeps to Go!

We now have our group passport!

With less than 2 months to go the questions are rolling in each day about School Camp.

With so many things to organise and pack where do you start?

We will be having a meeting all about what to pack and the final details of the trip near the end of February, so that you can get everything organised in plenty of time.  I will be sending a letter home this week to confirm the date and time of the meeting.

I’ll look forward to seeing you all there.

Mrs Inglis

Our Front Cover for Kensuke’s Kingdom

This was our interpretation of the front cover of our class novel Kensuke’s Kingdom by Michael Morpurgo.

Connor and Callum drew a picture of the boat called the ‘Peggy Sue’ and then Taylor and Jade painted and outlined it.

Cameron and Leona cut out a yellow circle from crepe paper for the sun and ripped some white tissue paper for the clouds.

Skye, Mya and Rebecca painted the letters black and carefully cut around them.

Graeme, Sean, Lewis, Billy, Nadine and Mrs Inglis added the different colours and textures of paper to show the sea and the waves.

Please leave us a comment to tell us what you think of our display!

Be sure to come back next week to see the yacht that we will be making.

French with Monsieur McAvoy

Every Thursday afternoon we will be visited by our French teacher Monsieur McAvoy to help up polish up our French for school camp!

What is our new book about?

It was all very secretive today as we were handed brown evelopes with clues as to what our class novel was about.

After learning all about inferences this morning, we were able to look beyond the picture clues and use our imaginations to write down what we thought that the book was going to be about.

Ethan “I think that it will be about an island in Hawaii.”

Graeme “They might use the compass for travelling.”

Nadine “The main character will be a boy because it says ‘he’.”

Giant Panda Notesheets

We were looking at how we would be using  the information that we found on our websites.  We had to read the words, put them into our own words and then note them down on our giant notesheet.

It was really hard for lots of people to just write the notes that they needed rather than full sentences.  After all the  teacher normally is moaning about you not haven written in sentences!

Deer Park Bowling Trip

Both Primary 7 classes had an amazing time during their end of year treat to Deer Park bowling.

It was fantastic to hear such a supportive atmosphere amongst the pupils as they cheered one another on and offered support and advice on how to get a ‘strike’.

The overall winner of the bowling competition was Rebecca Wood – Well Done Rebecca!

After all their hard work there was time for a tasty lunch before heading back to school.

Welcome Back!

I hope that you have all had a good rest over the holdiays and have not been partying too much!

This term we will be finishing off some of our China work and then beginning on our adventure with a Michael Morpurgo classic!

I am looking forward to transforming our minds and our classroom on our voyage!
