Eco Schools Scotland Green Flag assessment
Our school will be getting a green flag assessment from Eco Schools Scotland on November 17th. We will let you know the outcome soon after. Hopefully we will have a new green flag flying from our flagpole. Watch this space.

Eco Assembly
Our current reps recently led an assembly where they introduced the new reps who will take over duties after the October break. They also spoke about the green flag application, the developing wildlife garden and thanked Lexi from P4 for her contribution to the development of the bug hotel. Both staff and pupils were reminded about what goes into the blue recycling bags as a recent survey showed that they were not being used correctly. A competition was announced to produce a drawing to go with our Eco Code and the reps will be judging this shortly. Our Eco Code is :
Don’t drop it,
Put it in your pocket,
Be keen, clean and ECO GREEN!

Friends of Farthing Wood
Our Woodland Animals are getting very excited about Primary 4’s Assembly on Friday 2nd October. The children have been working very hard. They have chosen what should be included, written their own scripts and assigned parts. Today we had a staging rehearsal and started making masks and other props. See you all there on Friday.
More photos of the stars after Friday!

Our Local Community – PC Paul
Primary 2/3 have been learning about their Local Community. We invited PC Paul to find out more information about his job and how he helps our community. The highlight of his visit was seeing inside a police van and getting to handle all the equipment he uses for his job. We know a lot more information about what PC Paul does. Please ask us some questions at home.

Primary 3 and PC Paul
Primary 3 received a visit from someone very important in our community, PC Paul. PC Paul told us all about his job, how he helps people and how to stay safe.
He spoke about his uniform and some of the special equipment he uses such as spray, a baton and handcuffs. He even handcuffed Miss Ross to show us how they are used!
Primary 3 were lucky enough to see the inside of PC Paul’s police van. He locked some of Primary 3 in the back; it was impossible to escape. He even let us listen to the police sirens! It was really fun!
