Bubblegum ‘n’ Fluff

Bubble ‘n’ Fluff is a cross curricular programme which engages pupils in revealing and understanding the real meaning behind Christmas. Using puppet drama, games, challenges and craft the pupils are encouraged to remove the ‘fluff’ and reveal the true meaning of Christmas.

Scottish week in Primary One

We had lots of fantastic scottish things in our class last week.

We had plaques showing family tartan, scottish food, scottish plants and bagpipes and kilts.

We had Nessie and Scottie dogs and the Scottish flag.

We even had a kaleidoscope which was invented by a Scotsman called Sir David Brewster!

We had great fun designing our own tartan and, for the school assembly, we all made a ‘craw’ and sang 3 craws!!

We danced to Scottish music and we made a procession behind Andrew as he played the bagpipes while we played the drums!!

P7 Learn about Scottish Inventors

Last week Primary 7 spent time researching some Scottish Inventors. They learned that Scotland has been responsible for an number of inventions that have made a large impact on the world.

They were challenged in groups to present information to the class about their inventor in a creative way.

Two of the groups decided to make a song about their inventors (Alexander Graham Bell and Alexander Fleming). These are attached below. I’m sure you will all join me in congratulating them on presenting their research in song.

Pizza Please!

Primary 6 enjoyed their trip to Pizza Express. We got a tour of the kitchens and the storage rooms and more importantly we got to make our own pizza from scratch! We tasted 1 slice……….Okay, 2 slices. And we managed to resist eating the rest until home time.

We put bird seed and meal worms in them.

Some blew off in last week’s high winds but Mrs McGuire rescued them. We have also been getting P2/3’s help to fill up the other bird feeders on the fence.

P7 Learn some Sign-Along

Primary 7 have been working on learning some Sign-Along with the help of Jakki.

They have learnt the alphabet and some other words to describe animals, food and activities.

They have enjoyed the lessons and can sign their name. My challenge for next week is to learn their names to be able to sign them at assembly!

Rainbow Room

It has a been busy week in the Rainbow Room this week. Every group thoroughly enjoyed helping to make a giant hand print rainbow for the room.

Yesterday we were very excited as our parents came to visit us in the Rainbow Room. We enjoyed showing them our room and all our work.

Brodie liked making the snack with his mum and Jack liked showing his mum the room and all his tokens.
