Primary 3 and The Owl Who Was Afraid Of The Dark

This term Primary 3 have been reading the novel called The Owl Who Was Afraid Of The Dark.

As we read the novel we have also been learning lots of things such as:

  • how the author uses good description to help us get a good picture of the main character
  • alliteration
  • all about time
  • using autumn colours.

We have also been discussing the owl’s hopes and fears and we decided to write down our own hopes and fears on the leaves of the tree in our display. We hope that as the leaves fall from the tree our fears disappear and our hopes and wishes come true.

Meldrum Finish Second in Deans Gala Day Football Tournament

Pupils from Primary 6 and Primary 7 participated in the Deans Gala Day football tournament. After hard fought games against Carmondean and Deans, the team made it through to the finals where they faced Carmondean again.

Carmondean were victorious and Meldrum took the runners up slot. I am sure you will agree it was a fantastic effort from the team. Well Done!
