This week we have enjoyed our outdoor learning. We practised drawing our own clocks in pairs and using sticks to make o’clock and half past times. We have explored some Scottish myths, looked at the Kelpies, the Loch Ness monster and other Scottish landmarks. We have a new favourite song, called the Loch Ness Monster song… “Nessie, oh, Nessie, where did you go?”
Our sound this week was ‘oi’ and we worked hard to come up with and read words with this sound. Some of the words that we remembered are oil, boil, soil, foil, coil, coin, toilet and oilcan.
Great Green: “What went well…”
-We created our own stories in writing using the circus as our stimulus. With the children, we used two characters called Kate and Dad, and we discussed what they might see and do.
-Primary 2 have been learning to log in to sumdog independently and have really enjoyed the responsibility of doing it themselves.
Think Pink: “Even better if…”
-We should continue to look after our things in the classroom, ensuring that we tidy up and take turns to lead a game when playing outside.
-To think about historical places or people of interest that we would like to learn about!
Lead Learners:
Our lead learners after the February break are Matthew and Nova for persevering in written tasks and working hard to help others.
