Primary 5 – Friday 9th January

Happy New Year from Primary 5. We have had an excellent first week back in Primary 5. We are enjoying having a student teacher in class this term who is supporting us with our learning.

Great Green – ‘What went well….’
* We have been enjoying the low temperatures in Primary 5 because they have allowed us to measure how cold it has been in different parts of the playground.
Can you believe it?!? – we recorded a temperature as low as -9 degrees. We used the information collected to explore negative numbers, learning a new word along the way – integers – this means a negative or positive whole number including 0. We also made ice decorations using things we found in the playground.

Think Pink ‘Even better if….’
* Primary 5 are concentrating on using our core skills in our writing. We need to remember CAPITAL LETTERS and FULL STOPS. We were a bit rusty at the start of the week, but we are thawing out and our skills are coming back.

Lead Learners this week are Neve and Lucy who have both returned to school this term with a positive attitude and a high level of commitment in their learning.
