A fantastic week back for P6! They have demonstrated so much focus and how responsible they can be which is exciting to see what we can achieve this term if we keep this up.
This week we have:
- On Tuesday we started to learn how to play the ukulele. Using stickers to help with finger placement, we learnt how to play the tune You Are My Sunshine.
2. Also on Tuesday, we used foil, coins, sugar paper, salt, vinegar and wires to experiment with making a coin battery that would light up a bulb. For most people the bulb lit up which was exciting!
3. On Wednesday, we started to learn about mnemonics in spelling. We learnt that a mnemonic is a way to help you remember how to spell a tricky word. An example of this is remembering the saying “Big Elephants Can Always Understand Small Elephants” to remember how to spell the word because. We found this very helpful and are looking to use mnemonics in the future.
Great Green
- Focus, listening and independent work have improved so much since before the holidays!
- Handwriting improvements have been noticed over the whole week.
- Developments in our daily maths scores have been encouraging to keep persevering.
Think Pink
- Continue to practice the ukulele to perfect the tune of You Are My Sunshine and hopefully progress onto other tunes.
- Continue to try to be a 5 * line any time we line up.
Lead Learner Update
Our Lead Learners this week are Jack and Omar who both demonstrated responsibility in the classroom whilst working on their tasks. Well done boys!
