Primary 7 have been lucky enough to get a place in the Community Arts funded DJ School. DJ Paul N’Jie has visited the class for the last two weeks and introduced the basics of DJing to the class. They have then been able to have hands on experience mixing on the decks. They have another two weeks to go and then a date will be arranged for them to perform to the whole school demonstrating what they have learned.
The work that DJ Paul is doing with the class addresses the Expressive Arts outcome EXA 2-17a
“I can use my voice, musical instruments and music technology to experiment with sounds, pitch, melody, rhythm, timbre and dynamics. ”
as well as giving them experience of performing in front of others and working in a team.
As you can see from the photos, Primary 7 are enjoying this experience.
