West Lothian Libraries are trying to engage children in particular to make use of the eBook service that we offer for free to all library members. This is a service that encourages readers of all ages to pick up a book – in this case an electronic one. Once users are registered, the eBooks can be downloaded 24/7 with internet connection so there is no reason to run out of reading material. Additionally, once downloaded, books can be stored on a device for up to 21 days with no need for internet connection – so it is easy to plan in advance and take books away on short breaks, holidays or overnight stays.
