Week Ending 13th January 2017
What a fabulous week we have had for continuing our Winter learning!
With the first flurries of snow and freezing temperatures, our garden turned into a magical land of sound as we heard crunching and crackling underfoot and the dripping of snow as it melted into water. We used our booted feet, wheelie toys and even our bodies to create patterns and shapes in the snow.
All too soon the sun came out and the snow began to disappear. We watched the BBC Reporting Scotland weather report for information, trying hard to read the pictures to tell us if more snow was on it’s way. We could see the snow, rain and wind moving across Scotland as the Meteorologist told us to take care.
We continued to learn about hibernation and we added new words to our vocabulary; freezing, melting, Artic and Meteorologist.
Next Week we will be continuing to increase or knowledge and use of Winter vocabulary as well as investigate different ways to melt snow and ice.
Following on from looking at Scotland on the map we will continue to find out more about the country we live in and it’s traditions, starting with some familiar songs.
