P7/6 Assembly

Primary 7/6 are looking forward to presenting their class assembly to the rest of the school and parents on Friday 15 November at 9:30am. Our assembly will be on the Victorians which has been our topic this term. We hope you all enjoy it.

Sportshall Athletics Festival

Primary 7 and Primary 7/6 have enjoyed some athletics taster session with the Sports Leaders from Armadale Academy. During the past four weeks they have been learning running, jumping and throwing techniques in preparation for a cluster competition. Today they attended a Sportshall Athletics Festival and put their skills to good use. Their fantastic effort and behaviour earned them the first place prize. Well done everyone for winning gold, all your hard work paid off!  The certificate will be displayed in the school foyer and the prize of six relay batons can be enjoyed by the whole school.  Great job!

Sport Leaders

Primary 7 and Primary 7/6 have been lucky enough to get coached by sports leaders from Armadale Academy for the last 4 weeks. The pupils have been learning about different Athletic events and developing their skills. They are going to use everything they have been taught at an Athletics festival for all the P7’s in the cluster on Monday 26 November. The children have all really enjoyed working with the sports leaders.
Good Luck to all the children taking part in the festival next week.

Egyptian Amulets

Primary 7/6 researched lucky charms that Egyptians used to take with them to the afterlife. After choosing a lucky charm pupils made an information card about it. This week we are going to make the amulets using salt dough. Hopefully when they are finished you will see some pictures on glow.

P7/6 Assembly

Ancient Egypt Assembly
P7/6 have been working hard on their class assembly which will take place on Friday 23 November 2012. They cannot wait to show everyone what they have been learning in class and show off their wonderful acting and singing talents. Hopefully we will have some pictures to show you after our performance.

Measuring Egyptian homes and pyramids

Using a trundle wheel Primary 7/6 measured an outline of  the home of a nobleman, a tomb-builder and the height of the Great Pyramid of Giza.  The nobleman’s home measured 20m x 7m and the tomb-builder’s home measured 10m x 5m.  The height of the Great Pyramid is 146m. We ran out of space in the playground, only reaching 80m so that helped us understand just how enormous it must be. CHALLENGE: Calculate the perimeter of the nobleman’s house and the tomb-builder’s.
