P7/6 Technology
Primary 7/6 were given a technology home learning task to prepare at home. Pupils were asked to choose what they wanted to make and as you can see the results were great. We are hoping to have a showcase of everything once it has all been handed in next week.
P7/6 Rocket Launchers
Primary 7/6 made their own rockets. They had to make sure that it was as aerodynamic as possible and was air tight. The most successful rocket was Sharrie’s who went higher than the school.
Primary 7/6 Assembly
Â
Primary 7/6 had a fantastic time delivering their assembly to family and the rest of the school. The pupils worked really hard to learn their lines and songs. Miss Weston thinks they did a wonderful job.
Primary 7/6 Active Spelling
Primary 7/6 tried out some new active spelling strategies for the first time today. We painted with water on the chalk board, painted our words in dots, played tennis spell and wrote our words in chalk outside. It was a fun way for us to learn some tricky words.
Sport Leaders
Primary 7 and Primary 7/6 have been lucky enough to get coached by sports leaders from Armadale Academy for the last 4 weeks. The pupils have been learning about different Athletic events and developing their skills. They are going to use everything they have been taught at an Athletics festival for all the P7’s in the cluster on Monday 26 November. The children have all really enjoyed working with the sports leaders.
Good Luck to all the children taking part in the festival next week.
Children in Need
Eastertoun Primary and Nursery School had a fantastic day of fundraising on Thursday 15 November 2012 for Children in Need. All the children had a great day making biscuits, wearing something spotty and making Pudsey crafts. Overall we raised a fantastic total of £1143. Thanks to all the parents, staff and children for their kind donations. A special thanks to Mrs Hardie who prepared everything for our Pudsey biscuits. The finished biscuits looked and tasted delicious.

Pyramids
P7/6 have been researching pyramids during our Ancient Egypt topic. This is a fantastic PowerPoint that Connor and Cameron made. See how you get on with their quiz!
Space
Primary 7/6 have been enjoying learning about Space. We have made posters about the planets. We also looked at the earth, sun and moon. Here are examples of some fantastic posters.

P7/6 Assembly
Ancient Egypt Assembly
P7/6 have been working hard on their class assembly which will take place on Friday 23 November 2012. They cannot wait to show everyone what they have been learning in class and show off their wonderful acting and singing talents. Hopefully we will have some pictures to show you after our performance.

Eco Club Competition
There are going to be lots of fun competitions for P1-P3 and P4-7. The first one for P1-3 is a competition colouring in a litter picture and for P4-P7 you have to design a litter bug and name it. The best one would go on the back of a bin and the winner will receive a prize worth £10. Good Luck!
By Sharrie, Samantha and Rachel.
Eco Club
The Eco club have been learning about the 3 main priorities. These are litter, energy and the playground environment. We are looking for more people to do litter picking in the school and for more people to join the club. A group will be going around the school asking people if they would like to do it.
For the playground environment we are hoping that people will not drop their litter and waste the playground. We are hoping to get the green flag for the school. Finally there is saving energy so please turn off the light and smart boards when you’re finished with them and don’t waste electricity.
Kingswood Update
Dear Parents/Carers/Pupils/Staff of Eastertoun
Greetings from glorious Kingswood!
It has been another scorcher here in Kingswood and everybody is having a wonderful time. Most people went to sleep really quickly last night although we had a few night owls! After a whole day in the sun today I am sure everyone will be ready for their beds later tonight. We’ve had a brilliant lunch of meatballs, pasta, baked potatoes, pasties and salad and although it is only 4pm we are all looking forward to our tea!
Mr Bennett and Miss McTiernan have been on the 3G swing (although Mr Bennett managed to go slightly higher than Miss McT) and all of the children have been enjoying this activity as well as zip wire, leap of faith and nightline.
We are looking forward to our campfire this evening with some wonderful songs and jokes to share with all.
Will hopefully find time in our packed schedule to update you again tomorrow!
Hope sports week is going well and we will look forward to seeing you soon!
Miss McTiernan, Mr Bennett, Miss Thomas Miss Weston and the P7 Campers!

We are all looking forward to getting cracking on some activities later this afternoon as well as our dinner at 6.30pm.
We will try to update later in the week.
Enjoy the sunshine!

3D Rainforest Animals
Primary 6 worked at home to make 3D rainforest animals from recycled products. As you can see they all worked really hard and the results have been fantastic. Some of the models will be on display at our enterprise afternoon on the 7th of December.
A massive well done Primary 6.
Miss Weston 🙂
