BBC Radio 2 – 500 Word Challenge

BBC Radio 2 500 Word Challenge

Killin Primary’s After School Writing Club decided to participate in the BBC Radio 2, 500 Words. We could write about any subject of our choice as long as we didn’t go over the 500 word limit.

We worked very hard at Writing Club and during lunch times in order to finish our stories on time. When we submitted them, we received a Certificate for taking part. The winning prize is to have your story read at the Tower of London. We will hear in April this year so keep your fingers crossed!

Well done to Iona, Nyah, Leo, Jamie, Naomi, Cailtin and Keira for taking part.

Trip to Stirling Castle

Last week, P1-3 visited Stirling Castle. We had an action-packed day looking round the castle and hunting unicorns! Well done P1-3 – you were fantastic!

Gone Fishing!

This week, P6/7 released the salmon they had been looking after into a local burn. They then went to Almondbank near Perth to have a look round a salmon hatchery.

The pupils will return soon to check on their progress…

The sun came out, the vista across Rannoch Moor was stunning and the pistes were covered in deep fresh snow. But for our four competitors: Will  and Gregor  from Crianlarich Primary School, Anna from Killin Primary (and our reserve  from Killin Primary) along with Murdo who joined us from Muirton, taking it easy to glance across at the views was the last thing on their minds.
