Going Downhill Fast!
Crianlarich and Killin schools took part in the Scottish Schools Snowsports Association (SSSA) annual downhill skiing competition at Glencoe on Wednesday 24th February 2016.
The sun came out, the vista across Rannoch Moor was stunning and the pistes were covered in deep fresh snow. But for our four competitors: Will and Gregor from Crianlarich Primary School, Anna from Killin Primary (and our reserve from Killin Primary) along with Murdo who joined us from Muirton, taking it easy to glance across at the views was the last thing on their minds.
So how did they do? Brilliantly well is the answer! Each member of the team successfully completed each of their two runs. Will was the fastest boy on the hill in the blue category.
The great news is that Crianlarich and Killin won and will be skiing again in the national finals at the Nevis Range on Wednesday 2nd March!
P6 and P7 children from Crianlarich and Killin Schools will have three days at Glencoe in mid March. Having that amount of time should allow the children to make real progress.
