Nativity Primary 1 and 2 – Everyone Loves a Baby

In class your child is beginning to learn the songs for the Nativity. This year we will be performing “Everyone Loves a Baby.”

The Nativity will be taking place on the 11th and 12th of December.  Information about tickets will be issued at a later date.

We would appreciate your support in learning the songs at home.  We are cutting back on photocopies and are trying to be eco-friendly so we will not be giving out paper copies of the words this year.  Instead you can find the songs on the following link

P2J Music

We have been learning about rhythm.

We have tapped a rhythm together.  It was tricky keeping together!

We have kept the beat by tapping one after each other.  We did very well and really enjoyed using the sticks.

P2J Outdoor Learning

We have been looking for and identifying minibeasts.  We looked at their habitats.   Despite the cold weather we have found lots hiding in different places.

We decided to make homes for them to hibernate in.

Here they are

We made ours by the wall.

We made ours in the forest.

We made ours under the trees.

We all had lots of fun!

Reading Buddies

The P5 and 6 children had another successful session today reading the final book to the P2’s.  Today’s book was called Eric makes a Splash.

Here are some of the things the Primary 2’s said today –

“I liked the extra noises (expression) that the reading buddies added when they were reading. They made it exciting”. Annie

“I liked how confident the reading buddies were when they read to us.” Ruby

“I laughed at the stories the reading buddies made them funny.” Jack M

“The reading buddies were good at telling the story and acting out the parts.” Elliot.

“The reading buddies were good at reading the books, they were very confident. “Chloe T

“The reading buddies are good readers, they looked like they enjoyed the story too.” Cameron

This is what the Primary 5’s and 6’s said bout being reading buddies

“I liked how all the P2’s listened.”  Sophie

“I liked it because the p2’s showed us that they were enjoying the stories.”  Kevin

“The P2’s were really interested in the stories”  Anna

We have been measuring trees and recording what we found using tallies.

We measured trees that were bigger and smaller than our hug!

We found that most of the trees in the school grounds are bigger than our hugs.

We worked well with our partners and had lots of fun.
