Second payment.

Please note the second payment of £75 is due next Friday 24th November. Please ensure you pay this promptly as the school has on-going costs to meet throughout the year.

Thank you to those of you who have already paid the full amount and also to those of you who made the first payment on time, this really does make our life much easier!

Our preferred method of payment is via Parentpay alternatively you may pay by cheque at the school office. If you are having problems paying please contact us as we can make alternative payment plans for you.

Deposits reminder.

This is just a reminder that £100 deposits are due to be paid by tomorrow Friday 29th, please ensure that you pay this by the cut off as we have to pay the tour company for your child’s place on Monday.

Confirmation of place.

We are now in a position to confirm to our S1 pupils their award of a place on next May’s trip.

Those pupils who have been successful will be notified in PSR time starting tomorrow. Please look out for letters issued to your son/daughter which contain important information including parental permission forms which must be completed and returned by the date stated on the form. Please note there are 3 forms which require parental signatures and one which also requires a pupil signature.

The initial deposit of £100 will also be required and we recommend using Parentpay for this, cheques, made payable to Dunblane High School, may be handed into the school office if you are unable to access Parentpay.

Expressions of Interest: REMINDER

This is just a reminder to all parents who would wish their child to take part in next year’s Battlefields Trip that all expressions of interest must be with either Mrs Smith in English or Mr McRobbie in Technical by the end of the school day this Friday 15th September.

We hope to be able to confirm places by next Tuesday.

Some points to consider.

We are now beginning to receive expressions of interest from many of our new S1 pupils.

Some points that you as parents or guardians may wish to consider before paying the deposit are:

Your child should be be happy and comfortable facing an over night coach journey, departing from Dunblane at 8 pm and arriving in Dover at 8 am the following morning.

Your child should feel confident that they will be able for complete a short ferry crossing from Dover to Calais.

Your child will be spending a great deal of time in their coach once in Belgium and France, they will also have to be comfortable in walking in the open countryside and spending a great deal of time standing during the day.

Your child will be expected to make their own bed and their own packed lunch daily, all dietary needs can be accommodated.

Your child will be told very little about the day’s activities, this is because the young recruits during WW1 were told very little by their officers, your son/daughter will need to be flexible in their approach to each day.

On the way home your child should once again be happy to face a long coach journey departing from Ypres at 8 am and returning to Dunblane at approximately 11 pm.

If you have any queries or concerns please contact either Mr McRobbie or Mrs Smith by email at

Expressions of interest.

Letters will be issued to all new S1 pupils next Friday 1st September, inviting expressions of interest for pupils to participate in the 2018 WW1 battlefields trip. As this trip is likely to be oversubscribed completed forms must be returned by the cut off date for your son/daughter to be considered for this trip. The number of pupils is limited to 70 and if the number expressing an interest exceeds this then names will be chosen by ballot.

Once offered a place a non refundable deposit of £100 will be required. The overall cost of this trip is expected to be £550.
