Story Time – Shark in the Park

I hope you like this new story! Shark in the Park is a great story for reading with children because of its great rhymes, repeated phrases, and of course a chance to get up and move with Timothy! Just click on the picture above to start the story!

Why not try this telescope craft and see if you can join in with Timothy Pope as he looks through his telescope. Maybe you could take it with you on your walks and see what you can spot! Just click on the picture above.

Of course we couldn’t have a story about a shark without including this song about one too! Have fun! Just click on the link above!

Remember we love to hear how you are all getting on. Drop us a wee message here or say “hello!” on email where you can send us any pictures too!

bye for now,

Morna

Bubbles and rainbows

Popped Bubble Art

This is always a big hit with kids when I do it with them.  Hope you all enjoy!  Simply colour bubble mix with food colouring and blow bubbles onto paper – as the bubbles land and pop, they create beautiful works of art. It goes without saying that this project is best done outdoors.

Materials

  • Bubble Mix
  • Bubble Wands
  • Food Colouring
  • Paper

Instructions

  1. Pour 1 tablespoon of bubble mix into a small, shallow bowl.
  2. Add a few drops of food colouring to the bubble mix and stir well
  3. Place your bubble wand in the coloured bubble mix, remove and blow bubbles towards your paper.
  4. As the bubbles hit the paper and pop, they will leave interesting patterns. Repeat with other colours.

Tips

  1. Caution: Food colouring will stain surfaces and clothing. Be sure to protect both!
  2. This activity can be frustrating on a windy day – as the wind makes it hard to get the bubbles to hit the target paper!

Earth Day

Did you know today is Earth Day?  Here are a few bug houses diy ideas you might like to make as a family, to welcome some little creatures into your garden or outdoor space.  I have also linked a Garden Scavenger hunt that you could use to record anythng you all spot together.  Any photos of the kids with any garden friends would be great to see and if you do make any little garden bug hotels let us see these too!  Share on the “all for the kids” facebook page and/or send tyo gw07mckenziemorna@glow.sch.uk and I will share them here in a gallery.  Stay safe have fun!
