Popped Bubble Art
This is always a big hit with kids when I do it with them. Hope you all enjoy! Simply colour bubble mix with food colouring and blow bubbles onto paper – as the bubbles land and pop, they create beautiful works of art. It goes without saying that this project is best done outdoors.
Materials
- Bubble Mix
- Bubble Wands
- Food Colouring
- Paper
Instructions
- Pour 1 tablespoon of bubble mix into a small, shallow bowl.
- Add a few drops of food colouring to the bubble mix and stir well
- Place your bubble wand in the coloured bubble mix, remove and blow bubbles towards your paper.
- As the bubbles hit the paper and pop, they will leave interesting patterns. Repeat with other colours.
Tips
- Caution: Food colouring will stain surfaces and clothing. Be sure to protect both!
- This activity can be frustrating on a windy day – as the wind makes it hard to get the bubbles to hit the target paper!
I need to get some more food coloring next time i am at the shop and we will try this, think Carys will love it. Will get pics when we do and let you see Carys art 😀
That would be lovely to see.
Let us know if you get a chance to try it out. Email any pictures – we love seeing you!
Do you think you could mix paint in with it 🙂
You know it probably would! Just the tiniest amount I’d expect could work. Let me know if you try it!
