Sponsored Trot and Spot with Taylor Wimpey 02/09/16

We`ve found a new Community Friend, Taylor Wimpey, who has  a Building Development   very near the school. To mark the Opening of their Annsfield Farm Site and in a effort to raise much needed school funds, pupils and families escorted Elaine Reilly ,Taylor Wimpey Sales Representative, from the school to her workplace on Friday morning .Whilst walking, older pupils partnered up with younger ones as they  spotted objects beginning with letters from the word  PERSEVERANCE , one of our school values. Back in school the partners then helped each other complete the Trot and Spot Sponsor Sheets which were taken home for parents and families to contribute towards. All monies raised will go towards purchasing much needed classroom supplies  and  organising school events . Please gather as much sponsor money as you can and send into  school asap.Next week Taylor Wimpey will host Workshops about Building Site Safety and has pledged to become more  involved with St Elizabeth`s from burying a Time Capsule to World of Work Sessions. Watch this space for further exciting developments.

Senior Pupils Garden Party Invitation 31/09/16

On Wednesday 31st August, Senior Pupils, namely Captains,Vice-Captains,Head Boy and Head Girl, had the privilege of being   guests at The Blue Triangle Homeless Unit  Garden Party ,to celebrate the  launch  of their newly developed Organic Garden. Balloons,a Barbeque  and a Blether were amongst many of the exciting activities on offer. Over plates of food and treats , the children met with MSPs,Key Workers, Service Users, Education Personnel  and other invited guests to explain this  friendship  between St Elizabeth`s and   a local Homeless Unit. Last Session ,whilst reading Mr Stink by D Walliams, Junior  Pupils decided to question  the novel`s  stereotypical attitude towards homelessness by writing letters  to Logan, a Service User in The Blue Triangle. The children soon to discovered that Logan ,like many of the other Service Users, were fortunate to have this  roof over their head from where to prepare for integration into the wider Community.Since then St Elizabeth`s has  continued to develop our friendship with this Garden Party Visit   and look forward to  future joint creative ventures, currently in  preparation. Pictured are our school painted Garden Gnomes wearing  school colours ,given pride of place beside the Fairy Tree and other happy pictures.

Father O Farrell`s Jubilee Mass

Father Jubilee
Kian James Haine (P7, Head Boy and Altar Server ),Leah Donald (P7 ,Head Girl) and Leah Burns P7 Altar Server present gifts to Father with Our Lady and St Anne`s pupils.

What a lovely celebratory Mass with Father O’Farrell, children from both primary schools and parishioners. Kian James and Leah Donald from P7  helped to serve on the Altar during this Jubilee Mass and Mrs Daly came back from retirement  to play the organ. Father was presented with an embroidered alb to mark the occasion ,a Mass Card and two big envelopes full of congratulations cards from both schools. Pictured are the children from both schools and a “taken aback ” Father O Farrell from us all in the St Elizabeth`s Community.
