A Busy Week Outdoors 13/9

Primary Fives spent Monday  at Kittochside Agricultural Museum where they explored the history of farming before visiting a working farm, as it was during WW11. At the farm a Land Girl explained her role and helped the children to Dig For Victory .Bags of potatoes ,broad beans and beetroot were proudly brought back to school and sent home for supper !! Wonder what might be on the menu ?

St Elizabeth`s Fairtrade Fivers and Friends
A Fairtrade Monkey and Banana Hug.(Eiliah and Marisa)

On Saturday The St Elizabeth`s Fairtrade Fivers and Friends  were invited to entertain an audience of Fairtrade Delegates from as far away as Holland ,with their famous Fairtrade Rap and Tunes. They arrived at Glasgow Caledonian University to be met with Fairtrade Refreshments, fruit and cookies and Alasdair Allan , the Scottish Government’s Minister for International Development and Europe !! The children were very entertaining and certainly got their Fairtrade Message across . A very, very big St Elizabeth`s Fairtrade Thank-you to  pupils Eiliah McLaughlin, Reece McCulloch, Lara McIntosh ,Marisa Ventesei,Emma Burns and  Brooke Leggate for giving up their Saturday. Not forgetting two former pupils Niamh (S3) and Andrew (S1) McLaughlin who entertained everyone with their Scottish Flute  and Accordion Music plus some Burns Poetry for good measure. As usual St Elizabeth`s would not get very far without our really supportive parents and families. Thank you to Ms McCulloch, Mrs Burns,Mr McLaughlin and Mr McIntosh.
