Spring Clean Eco Club April 24th

We spent the Eco Club picking up litter, enjoying Treats donated by local Greggs Store and hunting out the very nasty New Zealand Flatworm. Thank you Keep Scotland Beautiful for the Litter Bibs and to Greggs .

As for the Flatworm…..these are invaders who are eating our earthworms thus  causing soil to loose its nutrients. They are found under boulders etc and don`t like to burrow like our native earthworms. To find out more just  log onto this  Opal Science Site : https://www.opalexplorenature.org/nzflatworm  where you will be able to note your discovery. It`s important for our Soil Scientists to find out the extent of the problem and from there try and control these very harmful pests.Thank you Citizen Scientists.
