Today 6 very lucky P6 children became Rail Ambassadors at the request of Scotrail and CRP74 (Community Rail Partnership is a group made up of people along the Train Line from Rutherglen to Hamilton who work to improve their communities ,funded by Scotrail) .Mrs Taylor took us down to Hamilton West Station where we were able to appreciate a Totem Pole designed and created by St Elizabeth`s in unison with local Homeless and NHS.Next time you go through the Station please look out for it.
After free rail travel accompanied by Suzy, CPR74 Facilitator,we arrived at Glasgow Central to be met by Allan,Community Rail Officer.Wearing Scotrail High Viz Jackets, the children toured the Station singing Christmas Songs and posing for photos with Transport Police. Then onto a quick snack in Virgin Money Lounge before touring a very Christmassy George Square and a taste of chocloatey churros .Next back to Central Station for a go on a Train Simulator. This is where Train Drivers refresh their driving skills on a termly basis.Feeling very hungry,CRP74 treated the children to a Burger and then we repeated our homeward journey with many thanks to Mrs Toner for taxing us from Hamilton West Station back to school. It`s great fun being a Rail Ambassador and a member of CRP74 Community Rail Partnership 74.Thank you.
