Surprise Visit From St Elizabeth`s Russian Orthodox Sisters (Belarus) 22/2/18

Today three Sisters and their driver paid us a visit after a chance request to a Motherwell Parish Priest.This Order is currently visiting Parishes in Motherwell Diocese raising awareness of their Cause to support the needy of Belarus.They spoke to Senior Pupils about their Patronial Saint,St Elizabeth of Russia who was a granddaughter of our own Queen Victoria.Later on at Parent`s Eve the Sisters displayed and sold handmade and crafted goods for Convent Funds to pupils and their parents.They are now heading back home in a converted van ,a journey that will take 4 days !!

Looking After Our Birds 9th February

Once again St Elizabeth`s worked alongside Pets At Home to raise awareness of looking after our birds over winter.Clare Murray ,Pets At Home,helped organise an in-store competition and came to the school with Animal Calendars,Bird Seed and Feeders for the lucky poster winners.AllĀ entries will be displayed in Pets At Home Store Hamilton.P4a has also teamed up with a National Tag`n`Track Programme where they will research andĀ  monitor the movements of Scottish Black-backed Gulls.

Healthy and Happy Visit 16/2/18

P6 and Mrs McIntyre have been selected to work with the Healthy and Happy Team to promote safe,fun and active travel to school.Kate and Laura told the Assembly about Healthy Travel To School Options and recommended Chatelherault Park Events on Sunday 25th February and Sunday 17th March for Family Walking Activities,Crafts and Tours.All sounds great fun so please see Posters around the school for more information.

January 2018 Eco Club

 

Today we all had a go at mixing up some pancakes,tasting and some tossing.The Best Pancake Flipper won a Groceries Bag of flour,eggs,milk and oil for making pancakes along with chocolate spread and syrup for slapping on top.See you all on 26th February for some Fairtrade Cookery and Tasting .All welcome including adults .See you then.

 

Burns At McCarthy Stone Retirement Complex 25/1/18

Our Merry Group of Burns Performers were so busy this week .ELU on Wednesday and on Thursday McCarthy Stone Retirement Complex in Hamilton.Here the children entertained with song,verse and dance then chatted to the residents about themselves.Before heading home they were treated to much appreciated Hospitality Treats. Thank you to the children and Driver Mrs Taylor and to our Retirement Friends.See you next year !!
