On Wednesday 31st August, Senior Pupils, namely Captains,Vice-Captains,Head Boy and Head Girl, had the privilege of being guests at The Blue Triangle Homeless Unit Garden Party ,to celebrate the launch of their newly developed Organic Garden. Balloons,a Barbeque and a Blether were amongst many of the exciting activities on offer. Over plates of food and treats , the children met with MSPs,Key Workers, Service Users, Education Personnel and other invited guests to explain this friendship between St Elizabeth`s and a local Homeless Unit. Last Session ,whilst reading Mr Stink by D Walliams, Junior Pupils decided to question the novel`s stereotypical attitude towards homelessness by writing letters to Logan, a Service User in The Blue Triangle. The children soon to discovered that Logan ,like many of the other Service Users, were fortunate to have this roof over their head from where to prepare for integration into the wider Community.Since then St Elizabeth`s has continued to develop our friendship with this Garden Party Visit and look forward to future joint creative ventures, currently in preparation. Pictured are our school painted Garden Gnomes wearing school colours ,given pride of place beside the Fairy Tree and other happy pictures.
