Evaluating the outcomes of nurture initiatives: a framework
With nurturing approaches being increasingly implemented in schools, this new framework supports practitioners as they self-evaluate their nurturing approaches and interventions. ‘Applying Nurture as a Whole School Approach’ was developed by Education Scotland in partnership with 8 local authorities, including Glasgow City Council. The framework describes the features of highly-effective practice and gives challenge questions for each of the relevant Quality Indicators in How good is our school? and How good is our early learning and childcare? from a nurturing approach perspective. There are also checklists and templates for questionnaires which support the triangulation of evidence.
