What’s Happening? Monday 20th May – Friday 24th May

We have a really busy week next week with lots of learning happening in all classes as well as our pupils being involved in they wider life of the school.  We have an additional In-Service Day on Thursday 23rd May due to the EU Elections as the school is used as a Polling Station.  Staff will be in school working on improving the school for the benefit of all our children. We are well into May and you can see we are continue to work hard with lots of things happening.

Remember we are now using the Summer 2019 menu – with week beginning 20th May being Week 2  Have a week look to see what delights we have on offer.  Please note that dishes may have changed, been added or taken away completely.  The cost of a lunch for P4 – P7 pupils has increased to £1.70 and pupils in P1 – P3 are still entitled to a free school meal.

We hope everyone had a very relaxing Easter Weekend.  Here is What’s Happening next week at Kirkton.

As it is almost the end of April (where did it go?) I have included May’s calendar as well as April’s.

 

Our lunch menu this week is Week 1 of the new menu, things will have changed have a wee look at it to check what delights we have this term.

Please note the cost of a dinner for pupils in P4 – P7 is now £1.70.  P1 – P3 pupils are still eligible for a free school dinner.

What’s Happening? Monday 15th to Friday 19th April 2019

We are all ready for a term full of excitement and interesting new learning.  Have a wee look to see what we are up to this week and for the rest of the month.

The final menu from the Autumn/Winter menu is week 3.  Have a wee look to see the choices for this week.  New menus were issued before the Spring Holidays and can be accessed via the South Lanarkshire Website after Friday.  We will continue to publish it here as well as on out twitter feed.

What’s Happening? Monday 25th – Friday 29th March 2019

Another busy work week here at Kirkton, as well as learning in class we have P1 visiting Glasgow Science Centre and we welcome staff from Carluke High School to work with our Primary 7 pupils.  Please remember we close at 2.30pm on Friday

As there is only one week of March left, we have included the April dates for you too.

The menu will be Week 2.  Remember to order milk via ParentPay before 9.30am.  Pupils in P1 – P3 are eligible for Free School Meals.

Have a week look at the choices and discuss them with your child.  Please remember all P1 – 3 pupils are entitled to a Free School Meal and we would encourage our children and families to take advantage of this.  Milk can be ordered via ParentPay at a cost of 20p per day.  Please ensure it is ordered by 9.30am to ensure we have enough.

What’s Happening? Monday 11th – Friday 15th March 2019

We have another exciting week planned at Kirkton.  Culminating on Friday with our Red Nose Day activities which have been organised by Miss Smith and our Pupil Voice Groups.

Apologies for the errors in the monthly calendar.  We do not finish until Friday 29th March at 2.30pm.  Maybe this was wishful thinking!!

This week the menu is from Week 3.  Have a wee look at the options and please discuss options with your child.

What’s Happening? Monday 4th – Friday 8th March 2019

This week at Kirkton, we have a number of events happening, the biggest of which is our World Book Day celebrations which are talking place on Thursday 7th March.  Pupils are encouraged to bring in their favourite book to read in class and share with their friends.  We are looking forward to our mystery book read.  Pupils have been issued with their tokens already and may wish to use this to purchase one of the ten special books.  Remember to tweet pictures of your reading in unusual places.

This week the menu is Week 2.  Remember as we mark Fair trade Fortnight on Wednesday there will be a Fair trade Chocolate Crispy Cake on offer for all children how take a School Lunch.

What’s Happening? Monday 25th – Friday 1st March 2019

Another busy week at Kirkton this week.  Mrs Brennan, Mrs Black & Miss Burns will be looking at Daily Writing/Literacy Jotters this week and Mrs Brennan will be continuing her meeting with teachers to see the progress of pupils within each class.  These meetings will continue for the next few weeks.

This is our monthly calendar for February and March, which will give you an overview of what is going on.  Please remember dates can change, sometimes at quite short notice.
