Story time

This week Elaine C Smith has been reading one of our favourites,  ‘The Gruffalo’. She is reading ‘The Glasgow Gruffalo’, the story of the Gruffalo with a wee twist. Have a watch and listen and share a comment to tell us what you think.

Its been a busy Tuesday at home!

Mrs Burns and I have been phoning some of the boys and girls and it’s been great to hear all of the exciting things you have been doing. We are missing you all. Some other boys and girls will receive a phone call later this week.

I have been sent more photos of your fantastic learning so thought I’d share them before signing off for the night.

Harry did some fantastic writing, he sounded out and wrote this all by himself. It’s a lovely message and one I’m sure we would all agree with. Especially at this time, our families are very special to us and we are thankful for them. Well done Harry!

Lucas has also been practising his writing and used his letter board to form all of the letter from the alphabet all by himself. Fantastic work!

Sophia’s busy week

Sophia has been doing some fantastic work at home. She made a lovely rainbow to show her support and cheer people up. Sophia and her mum did some baking and she practised her pencil control by following some patterns. Well done Sophia, keep it up!

Lara’s home learning

Lara has been missing nursery so much but she has been mega busy with her Mum, Dad and Rory. She has been managing to do her Acro, HipHop and Tap class using zoom. She can see all her friends from her living room. She has been going a walk, and met some big animals. Her mum helped to make an Easter tree and she won a competition online for her wonderful picture of her family as unicorns. Well done Lara!

Our first week of learning

Our nursery children have been sending in their home learning. They certainly have been busy. Jack has been practising his letters, Sofia has been baking banana bread from her nursery recipe book and creating crafts, and Lewis has been launching rockets, exploring his local environment and helping out in the garden.

Today Amelia practised her numbers on a dot-to-dot. She spent tike colouring and if going to put it in her window to share with everyone. Great job.

Spring is here ⚘ Something new to try this week

With the Spring sunshine, a roll of wallpaper & some crayons or felt tip pens.

Allow children to explore, investigate & be CURIOUS, looking to discover how shadows are cast from their favourite toy.

Such a great way to spark conversation and critical thinking as children are often intrigued by shadow phenomena. Shadows are mysterious & it’s a great way to get children outside, talking & learning about our natural world.

Come out sunshine & let’s see what silhouettes we can draw around today.

Challenge…something for later 💕

Something to try at home. Every time you wish you could do something, go somewhere, treat ourselves, see someone we love, visit a new place, invite people to visit us, write it down on a post it note and put it in a jar. When all this is over this will be a bucket list and you work your way through the jar and be more grateful than ever for the little and lovely things in our lives. Until then enjoy watching the jar fill up with magical things to look forward to 🦄🦖🏖👵🏼 🧚‍♂️🧜‍♀️🧞‍♂️🏃🌈🤿⛸🎭🤹‍♂️🩰🎨🎸✈🎢🏟

Learning at home looks great fun!

Lily has been busy at home doing lots of things to help her learning. She has been baking, working out with her dad and the body coach and practising her numbers. Well done Lily.
