Fantastic first day!

The children have been so busy on their first day back at virtual nursery. Here are some of their photos from their home learning.

Welcome back and Happy New Year!

Welcome back everyone! We hope you have a fantastic holiday and enjoyed yourself.

We have put together a little video to welcome you back as we have been missing you so much and it will be another little while before we will be back at nursery.

We have lots of fun learning activities for you to do at home and we would love if you would share them with us by sending them to the nursery email account.

We will be posting learning experiences everyday (Monday to Friday) and can’t wait to see what you get up to at home.

Please do not feel pressured to complete these tasks. Pick the ones you think your children will enjoy and have fun spending time with them. We are certainly missing them and want to make sure they aren’t missing nursery too much at home.

Any emails I will answer during these hours. You can also comment on the blog using your child’s login. If you have trouble accessing or need a reminder of your child’s login details please get in touch.

Christmas Jumper Day

Christmas Jumper day has been moved to Thursday of this week.

On Thursday 17th December children are invited to wear a Christmas Jumper to nursery, if you wish there will be a collection for Cash for kids and children can donate £1.

They will also be having Christmas lunch on Thursday. The children have already chosen their Christmas lunch. They had the choice of turkey, steak pie or nut roast

Christmas Party 🥳

The children had a fabulous time at their Christmas party this week. They all got a party bag with lots of lovely treats. We had a virtual visit from Santa. He made a special video for the boys and girls and the children were very excited. We all played party games and danced the day away to some Christmas songs. Later in the afternoon we watched a Christmas film and had hot chocolate with marshmallows. Yum!

Christmas lunch

Children who attend nursery full days and have lunch with us will have the opportunity to have Christmas lunch on Thursday 17th December.

They will have the option of

*Turkey

*Steak Pie

*Nut roast

We will be taking Christmas Dinner orders at the end of the week (Friday 4th December)

Please discuss options with your children.

Yellow snapshot

Week beginning 16/11/2020

The children have been busy exploring number this week. They used ICT to help them sequence, not only numbers to 10, but much bigger numbers. They challenged themselves and did a great job.

They created number boards using their number knowledge and then took them home to practise with someone at home.

In the home corner they have enjoyed taking on a role and playing ‘house’.

Using scissors we have been developing our fine motor skills.

Purple group snapshot

Week beginning 16/11/2020

The purple group have been working hard this week.

They created dinosaur painting like the one in our story of the week. They used a variety of colours and chose different dinosaurs to paint.

They worked together as a team to build a climbing frame and supported and encouraged one another to have a go at climbing.

Marmaduke the dragon created a great discussion about how we are all different and we drew pictures to show our differences.

Week beginning 16/11/2020

The Blue group have been busy learning lots of different skills this week ans they also have new children who are settling in well.

They explored the story of the 3 Bears and had lots of fun retelling the story ans making the bears from playdough.

They have enjoyed reading Pete the Cat and all took part in some mark making activities to create their own cats.

Ice sensory play was so much fun and the children liked finding out what was inside and what colours would melt next.

in the imagination station, the children played shops and were all able to take on a character and play pretend.

Lead particularly enjoyed sorting by colour.

Orange group snapshot

Week beginning 16/11/2020

The orange group have new starts and they are settling in well.

Some of the children were keen to learn how to play noughts and crosses. They followed instruction well and were able to confidently turn take.

They have been developing their fine motor skills by using scissors and cutting along lines.

Using the construction they made dumbells and did a work out. Well done!

The train set was great fun and everyone worked together ans problem solved to add bridges ans bends to the track.
