Homework due Friday 6th September

Spelling homework

Spelling Homework 2.9.19

Spelling homework for this week is attached in the document linked above.  Spelling groups are still to be confirmed, therefore the whole class will focus on the same ten words this week.  If anyone is having trouble accessing the document please let me know.  You do not need to print this off and bring it to class.  Please just complete the tasks in your homework jotter.  Spelling test will be Friday 6th September.

Maths

Maths homework will work in rotations.  Two groups will have a worksheet (or similar activity to complete) and the other two groups will be asked to complete one Sumdog and one Study Ladder activity.  The following week, the tasks for these groups will swap over.

Triangles – Please complete the equivalent fractions worksheet (will be given out in class) in your jotters.  Please do not write on the worksheet.  This must be returned to class on Friday alongside your homework.

Squares and Circles – One Sumdog and one study ladder activity on multiplication to be completed.  Please have a parent or guardian sign your homework diary confirming this has been completed.

Rectangles – Weight worksheet to be completed in your jotter (this will be handed out in class).  You do not need to copy out the diagrams.  Please return this worksheet on Friday.

Rectangles could you also please weigh 5 objects of your choice from home and order these from lightest to heaviest.  Remember if it is heavier than 1kg, I would like your answers in kg and g… not just grams! (e.g. if something weighs 1500g, please write this as 1kg 500g).

Thank you for a great week last week, and look forward to seeing you on Monday!

Homework due Friday 30th August

Happy Monday Room 13!

For this weeks homework, we will be focusing on math!

Whole Class – Everyone must select a mathematician of their choice and bring 5 interesting facts about this person to class no later than Friday.  You can either write these 5 facts in your homework jotter OR why not challenge yourself and create a colourful and informative poster with the research and information you have collected.

Each member of the class must also complete ONE sumdog and ONE study ladder activity.  Listed below are the focus area for each group, so it would be beneficial to find an activity which links to this.

Triangles – activities focusing on fractions.

Squares & Circles – activities focusing on multiplication.

Rectangles – activities focusing on length (measurement in cm and m).

If you cannot find an activity relating to your topic, any activity focusing on one of the four operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication or division) will be accepted as these skills are always important to practice!

A parent / guardian should sign your homework diary to confirm these tasks have been completed.

Lets have a great week!

Miss M 🙂

Hello from Room 13!

Welcome to Room 13’s Glow Blog!

Your weekly homework will be posted on here, as well as being noted down in your homework diary.

Homework will be handed out on Monday morning and should be handed into class no later than Friday.

Some homework tasks may not require any written work in the your homework jotter, for example an online activity.  In this case I would kindly ask that you write a short sentence confirming that this activity has been completed and then have a parent / guardian sign this.

This blog will also be used to keep you and parents/guardians updated with news and amazing work being completed in class!

Stay tuned for updates!

Thanks
Miss McKinnon
