Some of our children went on a very wet walk to Morrisons yesterday to recycle all of the plastic bottles we had collected in nursery. The children loved splashing in the puddles on their walk, putting all the bottles into the big recycling machine and on the way back they spotted a pigeon nest in our forest. The children were commenting on how messy the forest was and how it could hurt the pigeons; the children asked Nicolle if they can go out to the forest to pick up the litter to protect the pigeons… Well Done to our very kind and caring children!!!

Today we welcome Caitlin Rutherford to our team; Caitlin is a peripetetic Early Years Worker who will work in a variety of establishments across South Lanarkshire council but she will begin her Journey in Ballerup; Welcome to our family Caitlin!!!

Wee Blether Bake Sale – Come along throughout today to enjoy some home baking and a wee chat. All money raised will go towards nursery funds!!!

(We would also appreciate any donations of home baking for our bake sale)

Toys:

Can we please ask that you discourage your child from bringing their own toys into the playrooms… This is resulting in toys being lost or broken. If your child wishes to bring a toy with them please encourage them to put it in their bag or let you take it home.

Thank you to Julie and Grace who treated all staff to a visit to the forest to teach us some forest skills which we can implement with your children such as how to make a no trace fire, build a tree swing, we also took part in some creative forest fun, trust exercises and most all we all developed a new found love for the outdoors and the feeling of wellbeing that it brings!!!

Our children are all settled and getting back into the nursery routine!!!

We welcome some more new children to our Ballerup Family this week, we hope they have a fun and exciting time with us!!!

Nursery closed for staff in-service training – On these days staff will be taking part in training for ‘Forest Adventures’, ‘How to support Attachment’ and How to implement the ‘Froebel’ approach to children’s learning; These are all things which we are currently implementing in Ballerup and staff will use their knowledge from the training sessions to implement it further with your children!!!

Welcome back to all of our term time children and support staff and also a big Welcome to our new children who are joining our Ballerup family… We are looking forward to having you all back to have another fun year at Ballerup!!!

Our children and staff had a lovely morning out at Calderglen park today. They had great fun playing in the park and loved visiting the animals in the mini-zoo!!!
