THIS WEEK IS ‘SAFETY IN THE SUN WEEK’ – Jacqueline will be displaying some tips and information in the main entrance and she will also be available to chat to anyone who would like some more information.

Wednesday: Book Bug will be happening at 11.15am and 2.30pm and the lending library is also available in the main corridor.

PLEASE REMEMBER THAT OUR ANNUAL SPONSORED WALK IS TAKING PLACE THIS COMING SUNDAY (28th) AT THE JAMES HAMILTON HERITAGE LOCH. EVERYONE IS WELCOME TO COME ALONG… WE ARE HOPING FOR SOME NICE WEATHER BUT FOR ANYONE WHO WAS THERE LAST YEAR YOU WILL KNOW THIS ISN’T ALWAYS THE CASE SO PLEASE DRESS APPROPRAIELTY. WE WILL MEET AT THE SWINGPARK AT THE LOCH AROUND 11.40AM. SPONSOR FORMS ARE IN ALL CHILDREN’S FOLDERS AND ANY SPONSOR MONEY COLLECTED SHOULD BE HANDED INTO NURSERY BEFORE FRIDAY 3RD MAY.

Welcome back everyone that was off, we hope you had a lovely Spring Break and all ready to start Term 3!!!!

We also have lots of new children starting Ballerup over the next couple of weeks… We would like to welcome them to our Ballerup family and hope they enjoy their new journey!!!

Monday: All term time children return today!!!

Wednesday: Easter Parties in all rooms… Easter Bonnets are welcomed!!!

Thursday: 10.30am & 2pm: Daffodil Tea – If you haven’t already got tickets please speak to Tammy, Amanda or Kerry!!!

We will be having lots of Easter Fun on Wednesday 17th April; Every room will be having Easter parties with lots of fun, games and of course yummy party food. Children can wear party clothes if they like or whatever they feel comfortable in!!!

*We would love children to get creative at home and make their very own Easter bonnet to bring to the party*

Another quiet week ahead…

Mon: Professional Development – Julie, Grace, Angela and Kerry are visiting Hollandbush nursery in Hamilton to see their amazing outdoor area and get some ideas which we can incorporate into Ballerup’s outdoor area.

Tues:  Professional Development – Tracey, Jude, Chelsea and Anita are visiting Calderside nursery in Blantyre to look at how they incorporate ‘Loose Part’ play into their daily routine. This is something we have started at Ballerup but hope to gain some exciting and interesting ideas from Calderside to try out with our children here.

Wed: Chelsea has recently started a project about ‘Vet’s’; she has worked with the children to create a ‘Vets’ in the imaginative area, been to visit the local Vets in Greenhills and today her and Kerry will be taking a group of children on the bus to visit the animals in Pets at Home (Howard Avenue). Chelsea will speak to all parents of children who will be involved and you will be asked to sign a permission form to allow your child to go.

*Please remember to speak to Tammy, Amanda or Kerry to get tickets for the ‘Daffodil Tea’ on Thursday 18th April – If your child is off during the holidays drop us a wee email to let us know how many you need, this lets us get an idea of numbers for the day*

Below are dates for consultations with your child’s keyworker. Times will be posted outside the playrooms for you to make an appointment. This will give you the opportunity to discuss your child’s progress at nursery and raise any concerns you have.

For parents of children who will be starting school, this consultation will be to discussion your child’s transition to school, you will also be able to read and discuss their transition record before it is sent to their school.

Baby room: Tuesday 23rd April – Friday 26th April

2-3 room: Monday 29th April – Friday 3rd May

3-5 room: Monday 13th May -Friday 17th

Monday 20th May – Thursday 23rd May

Tuesday 28th May – Friday 31st May

This week in nursery will be a bit quieter than usual with it being the Spring Break, However our staff have continued to plan very exciting experiences including taking advantage of the nicer weather which has appeared and spending time in the garden, in the forest and going for walks around the local area!!!

Thursday: Today we welcome our new member of staff; Sharon Harkin. Sharon joins us from Clyde Valley Kindergarten and will be working as Julie’s job sharer with the Blue Group in the 3-5 room. Welcome to the Ballerup family!!!

Daffodil Tea

To welcome Spring we will be having a daffodil tea on Thursday 18th April; You are invited to join our tea party and listen to your children’s beautiful singing voices performing a selection of Spring and Easter songs and rhymes.

We will have a tea at 10.30am and one at 2pm. Each family is allocated two tickets; please let us know if you will not need all tickets as we will ballot them for people who would like extra. If your child is in all day please let Tammy, Amanda or Kerry know which tea you would like to attend.

In keeping with the theme we would very much appreciate a donation of daffodils from each family on the day for us to give to our friends at Rosaburn Care Home and also to people In the local community.

There will also be raffle tickets on sale for a few special prizes to help raise money for nursery funds.

A wee quiet week…

Monday: 2pm-3pm: ‘Grandbuddies’ continue at Roasburn with Kerry and Nicolle!!!

Wednesday: 11.30am and 2.30pm – Kirsty from Greenhills library will be in to deliver some book bug sessions, all parents/carers are welcome to come and join us!!!

*Also remember the lending library is always available in the main hallway for your child to choose a book to take home and share with you and your family*

Friday: Term Time only children will finish at 2.30pm.

*ALL TERM TIME CHILDREN WILL BE OFF NURSERY FOR TWO WEEKS FROM FRIDAY, THEY WILL RETURN WEEK BEGINNING 15TH APRIL… HAVE A LOVELY SPRING BREAK!!!*
