World Book Day

The Nursery and Primary pupils enjoyed celebrating World Book Day yesterday.  Most pupils came to school dressed as a character from one of their favourite books and there were a fabulous array of costumes, well done!  Each class have had a busy week of literacy activities enjoying the author live sessions, writing activities, book token competition and reading sessions.

A highlight of the day was our paired reading sessions.  Each of the Nursery and Primary classes paired up with another class and the older pupils read to the younger pupils.  It was great to see the pupils so engaged and enjoying their books together.  During this activity there was a lovely, calm atmosphere in the reading areas so we hope to introduce this activity more regularly in the future.
