We were treated to a performance by the Shetland Youth Orchestra last week in the Sound Hall. The orchestra is made up of children from all over Shetland including both primary and secondary, and their musical talents are amazing!
We were introduced to all the different instrument families including brass, woodwind, strings and percussion. We listened to a mixture of music including classical, swing and even a theme tune or too. We particularly liked the Wallace and Grommit theme tune which they played as we were leaving the hall.
What a very enjoyable way to spend a Friday afternoon!
P2B have been writing their names and exploring using colours.
Welcome back to our blog.
We’ve had a fun start to P2 with a sneaky dragon visit. The dragon left us D-Mail and has asked for our help to re-build Fairyland. We are working hard to help him and his friends. Luckily the big friendly dragon left his little buddy called Dizzy. Dizzy helps us in class every day and loves to hear all about our adventures.
In art P1 have been printing using many different tools.
They have used paint lids, fingers and spreaders to layer up a lovely flower meadow.
Good job primary 1! 😁
The beginning of this term in music was spent learning the Up-Helly-Aa songs for our 2 visitation days! And our peerie procession. We worked really hard and sounded fantastic!
In art P1 have been printing with Lego. We have used our imagination to print our own castle.
What a great fun was had getting messy with black paint ☺️
