We have been doing Athletics in PE. We have been performing in events from the 3 categories running, jumping and throwing, focusing mainly on our sports day events.
We have been doing Athletics in PE. We have been performing in events from the 3 categories running, jumping and throwing, focusing mainly on our sports day events.
We have been using rackets in PE. We have developed our skills using different equipment, including balloons, fluffy balls, hand paddles and various different rackets. We loved hitting balloons. Because they are slower, we had lots of time to get the racket in place.
P2B have been learning about Vincent Van Gogh. They have made sunflowers using drawing, collage and painting skills.
P 2B have been using templates and to collage a wolf and little red riding hood character. Most of the children made a green forest using paint.
We have been doing games in PE. We have played in small and large teams, practicing aiming, moving, tracking the ball, defending and attacking.
The children have been learning today about Vincent Van Gogh and his friend Camille who gave him sunflowers.
The children have made sunflowers by drawing, collage and painting. They have making an expressive forest using different colours of paint.
This week in music we have been learning about the importance of music during Chinese New Year. As part of our learning we watched a Musical Storyland episode called ‘The Great Race’ by BBC Teach, where members of the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra play a range of instruments and tell the story. We saw a new Chinese instrument called a guzheng which is played by plucking the strings. You can see all the instruments in the picture below.

We also learned that this year is the year of the dragon and in the clip below, you can see us using scarves to move like the dragon dancers that perform at Chinese New Year celebrations.
