Asylum Hotels by Lowra Tulloch
In a news article I heard of there was an Outrage about Asylum hotels. In the first quarter of this year, just over 32,000 asylum seekers were in hotels across the UK. Another 66,000 were housed in taxpayer-funded “dispersal” accommodation.
So, I did a vote to figure out if the S1 to S3s if they thought asylum hotels are a good idea or if they should just stay in Locals houses.
This was the result:
Yes, they are a good idea = 20
No, they aren’t a good idea = 12
I don’t know/ I don’t mind = 6
So, you can see that a lot of the secondary thinks that asylum seeker hotels are better than staying in Locals house/a good idea.
When I was reading the article the one person who was causing this outrage was called Mandy from Warrington and her son was an asylum seeker and he can’t get a house but just a hotel. Her neighbour was called Adrian and he started going on about his voice was never heard. But, hundreds of people have gotten in contact with your voice BBC news about the issues such as . . . the small boat crossings, illegal immigration and the problems with asylum seekers hotels/accommodations/housing.
