Primary 7 have had a busy two weeks building blackhouses from balsa wood.
Many skills have been worked on including measuring, building, listening, cooperating and evaluating. It’s been a very worthwhile task to fit in with our topic of “The Highland Clearances.” The class evaluation reports are worth reading and will be on show (along with the Blackhouses) on our Learning Walk on March 14.
If you’ve had enough of playing in the snow, here are a few ideas to keep you busy. For ease of access, I’ve also put this message on our class Team. The homework grid can be found in the “Homework” section of our Class Notebook.

Primary 6 & 7 had lovely weather for their school trip to Sumburgh. We loved playing on the beach and bird watching around the lighthouse.
We were lucky enough to get a guided tour of the Engine Room, Smiddy, Marine Life Centre and lighthouse at Sumburgh Head. Then we enjoyed some games with Active Schools at the park. A fun day had by all! 🙂
