Children in Need
This term, P6 have been busy raising money for Children in Need. They worked in groups to organise various activities for the whole school to take part in. This included running a tuck shop, toy and book sale, nail bar, iced biscuits stall, games in the gym and more!
They were lucky enough to get a visit from Ability Shetland who shared how important Children in Need funding is to running their charity organisation.

Term 1
This term as part of the maths curriculum P6s have been looking at formal written methods for setting out addition and subtraction sums. The children have been using “chimney sums” to find totals and differences with numbers up to four digits. We have also spent some time on data handling and practicing multiplication facts.
The pupil’s topic work has centred around “Science and Scientists.” In particular this has involved activities and experiments involving forces and looking at the lives of some famous scientists including Marie Curie and Albert Einstein.
