Play Leaders

Primary 6 have just completed a six week block of Play Leader Training with Jennifer Thomson from Active Schools.  They will now have the opportunity to use the skills they’ve learned and organise playground games for P1 and P2 classes.  It was great to see how caring and  encouraging the Primary 6 pupils were with the younger children.

Well done!

P6 Play Leader Training

Jennifer Thomson from Active Schools has been in school training our class how to be Play Leaders.

Play Leaders are a group of caring children who have been trained to organise activities for other children in the playground.

We have been learning about PACE:

P – is for people: who will be playing and how can we organise them into fair teams?

A – is for area or space; where will we be playing?

C – is for communication: the importance of explaining rules clearly .

E – is for equipment. What, if any, equipment do we need to play?

I would say we have some great play leaders in training!

Welcome to P6!

I am looking forward to a fun year ahead!

Here are some things I wanted to share with you:

PE will be on Wednesdays. Remember to wear comfy clothes and suitable shoes.

Music & Art are both on Thursdays. Try to take in an apron or an old t-shirt for Art.

There will be no spelling or maths homework this session.  Only reading homework will be given.

Our topic this term is: What Makes Us Human.
