In art P6 have been painting.
We have been learning how to mix various tints and shades of blue to create these beautiful wintery pictures. Once the sky was complete we painted our snowman, to which added lots of lovely details. The final step was learning how to add shadows to help make it look three dimensional.

As part of our learning journey through the history of music, P6 have learned about a Russian composer called Piotr Illyich Tchaikovsky. Tchaikovsky composed many pieces in his time and one of the most famous pieces is ‘The Nutcracker Suite’ which was written for the ballet in 1892.
The class learned a chair drumming routine to the Russian dance ‘Trepak’ and below is our first go at the routine. They did really well considering the composition’s tempo of ‘allegro’.
This was our last week of gymnastics. The class have loved this block, especially the equipment. We have seen lots and lots of learning taking place including balance and control, co-ordination, gross motor skills, core stability, strength, flexibility, stamina and confidence, as well as less obvious aspects like respect and tolerance, decision making and prioritising. The class have worked extremely hard with lots of new skills being learned.
