There are so many seeds around our school and we have been learning how they disperse. We spotted Sycamore seeds high up in the trees in the wildlife area and tried to make some of our own. They were very successful.

Here is our class curriculum information for term 1.
Today we have been outside washing and identifying our seaweed. We found lots of different types including Sea Lettuce, Kelp and Oar Weed. We are hoping to use the Seaweed to fertilise our plants. Again our focus was on collaboration. Whilst exploring our garden we spotted lots of plants dispersing their seeds, including apples and berries.
Today we gathered lots of different types of seaweed from the beach. The meta-skill we focused on was collaboration. Even more collaborative skills were seen at the end when everyone worked together to build a giant dam! We looked carefully at the adaptations different types of seaweed have and will investigate further as we identify each type.
We are still busy spotting pollinators around our school. This pollinator was spotted by a P7 pupil.
Today we carried on our exploration of the flowers that surround our school. We made mixed media diagrams labelling the different parts of the flower. We focused on two meta skills – creativity and collaboration.
The first day of primary 7 has brought sunshine. Our topic for this term is plants. We brainstormed some ideas about what we wanted to find out. We have spent the afternoon finding different flowering plants, some have been flowering since June and some have recently started flowering. We dissected some of the abundant flowers to find out more about how they reproduce.
Welcome to session 2024-2025. Just a quick note to say that specialist music will be each Tuesday, specialist art will be on Wednesday and specialist P.E. will be each Friday.
