Visit to E.T. and Taing House for a Teddy Bears’ Picnic/Heart Craft
We had a really nice time today; visiting the Day Care setting and spending time with the service users. The service users were very kind and made us teddies, which we could take home. Our thanks goes out to them all! We also decorated wooden hearts and enjoyed colouring time. It was lovely to be able to have a chat with the people visiting Day Care today. They kindly shared snack with us too! Some of the service users commented on how respectful and kind our class are. Thank you to all who helped today and Shereen, Rosie, Stacey, Laina and all staff at Day Care. We shall continue to build on these links to the community.

Intergenerational Dance
Thank you to everyone who could join us yesterday for an afternoon of dancing. Thanks also to Miss Stewart and her brother Darren, for the live music. Fabulous to have live music. Alison from the canteen made delicious cakes/biscuits and Mrs Manson organised refreshments. Thank you ladies! Some Primary 7 pupils joined too and members from the Nesting and Girlsta Jarl Squad opened up our dance for us, which was great! Very much appreciated. We had a fun afternoon and it was just so nice to see everyone. We’re planning to learn more traditional dances in our Teacher Led P.E. time.

Lerwick Up Helly Aa – Jarl Squads Visit
We enjoyed the visit from the Jarl Squads today. We had fun singing and met some members of the Senior Jarl Squad. We also had a chance to look at the Junior Galley in our playground.

Visit to Montfield
Our class visited Montfield this week, to sing songs, chat and have a dance with some of the senior citizens and staff. Miss Stewart accompanied us on the piano. We had fun and the staff at Montfield kindly shared a snack with us to take home. We used our communication and creative meta skills.

Fun in the Snow – Snow Structures
We worked in pairs to build different things from snow. We made snow castles, forts, shells, whales, blocks and many other things! We used our co-operative and creative meta skills. We had a lot of fun!

Special Delivery!
We’re so fortunate to have received beautiful gifts today. The children in the class were each gifted gorgeous baubles from Shereen, Rosie and the service users at E.T. and Taing House Day Care. We will hopefully visit again in the New Year. Thank you Shereen and everyone else in Day Care!

Forces and Energy – Circuits
As part of our learning, we worked together to create circuits, using components that we borrowed from the Anderson High School. We used our cooperative and creative meta skills. We had fun!
