We’re so fortunate to have received beautiful gifts today. The children in the class were each gifted gorgeous baubles from Shereen, Rosie and the service users at E.T. and Taing House Day Care. We will hopefully visit again in the New Year. Thank you Shereen and everyone else in Day Care!

As part of our learning, we worked together to create circuits, using components that we borrowed from the Anderson High School. We used our cooperative and creative meta skills. We had fun!

As part of our Forces and Energy topic learning, we headed outdoors yesterday to investigate different things that were either magnetic or non-magnetic. We used our communication and cooperation meta skills whilst working in groups and sharing resources. We found several metal objects that were magnetic. We used different magnet strengths and discovered that not all metals are magnetic. It was fun!
Some comments from the children:
“It was good working in groups and sharing thoughts.”
“It was nice to learn and not just in the classroom.”
“We want to do it again!”
“Next time, we’ll try to use even quieter voices as other classes were working.”

Thank you to all the helpers today, including Miss and Mrs Smith, Nikki and Michelle. Thanks also to Shereen, Rosie, Stacey and Laina at Day Care, as well as all the service users, for welcoming us so nicely.

As part of our Religious and Moral Education Curriculum, we are learning about different places of worship and we visited the Baptist Church this morning. Iain and Lee talked with us about the differences between churches, what activities take place at the Baptist Church and the people that worship and visit. We took part in a Biscuit Quiz, which was fun. We also discussed the importance of Harvest and what it means to people. We heard the parable of The Rich Farmer and danced along to a food song. Iain and Lee showed us around the Church and we saw the Baptism Pool. We made our own little houses in craft time and spoke about who and what is important to us. Thank you to everyone who helped today. We used our focus, communication and creative meta skills.

As part of our learning on the folklore of Scotland, we used clay to design our own Nessies. We used our creative meta skills. It was a lot of fun!

As part of our class leadership this term, we helped Police Scotland to monitor traffic coming down Sound Brae. We made our red, amber and green emojis in class. House Captains also helped out. We had the opportunity to look at some police equipment too. We used our communication and leadership meta skills.

As part of our learning on ‘What Makes a Good Friend’, we worked together using our cooperative meta skills, to create our own friendship bracelets.
